Hospital for Haiti

Our organization is cooperating with doctors from the Czech organization Hand for Help on building a quickly assembled hospital in Haiti destroyed by the earthquake. The 3 Hospital Units (a operating unit, a maternity unit and a outpatients´ department) will be built in the beginnning of March from portable polyurethane blocks (the hospital units will be assembled in just 2-3 days). The Czech team will stay in Haiti for 3-6 months to provide the needed medical care and to train the local personnel and then transfer the hospital to a local NGO or a government organization. The team will bring and install also a mobile water treatment facility powerful enough to provide drinking water for hundreds people.

Pakistan after 2005 earthquake

Two 40-foot sea containers carrying approximately 1,000 boxes of warm clothing and medical supplies to assist the people of Pakistan in the initial recovery period after the North Pakistan earthquake.

In addition to this over USD $43,000 was personally donated by members of the Sri Chinmoy Centers International for victims of the earthquake via UNICEF.

Kids to Kids packs

The Oneness-Heart Tears and Smiles in New Zealand in 2005 completed its Kids to Kids project which involved hundreds of school children around New Zealand. This project was used as a way for New Zealand children to reach out their hand in friendship to the children of Sri Lanka. Over 600 packs were created and sent the Dilmah Tea Foundation who distributed them to the children in the Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka.

Relief Goods after Tropical Storms Noel and Olga

In December 2007, The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles sent a sea container of medical supplies, food, clothing, toys and educational materials from New York to Dominican Republic. Within three days of its arrival the container was released from the port to our consignee, the Stepping Stones Ministries. The goods were distributed to Hospital Ramon, Quanamethe Haitian Clinic, Salud Publica and Policia Nacional Clinic, as well as to an orphanage and a senior center medical clinic.

The first 'Drawings of Love' to arrive in Banda Aceh

In late May 2005 a volunteer with The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles traveled to Banda Aceh with the International Relief Development agency to coordinate the reconstruction of the water treatment plant. On behalf of the Oneness-Heart Tears and Smiles he took the first Drawings of love from New Zealand children that were lovingly made for the children of Banda Aceh.

Dried food for Sri Lanka tsunami relief

After hearing news of the terrible tsunami, the Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles in Great Britain immediately supplied bags and boxes of dried food, including rice, soup, wheat flour, beans, milk, which were sent by air to Sri Lanka via the Sri Lanka High Commission.

Aid to a Children's Home, June 2004

In early June 2004, a truck load of school equipment, clothing, food items and books from the Swiss branch of The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles was delivered to a children's home in Sri Lanka.

Donations from The Sri Chinmoy Centres International

Following the news of the Boxing Day Tsunami, members of The Sri Chinmoy Centres International personally donated over US$86,000 towards countries affected by the disaster—including Sri Lanka. This money will be made available to fund a variety of initiatives, including those organised by other international humanitarian organisations.

Medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, food and clothing

The Oneness-Heart-Tear and Smiles United States provided sixty boxes of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, food and clothing (including four hundred saris) to an American Buddhist association who sent them to Sri Lanka.

Mobile hospital for children

A mobile hospital for children was sent from the Czech Republic to the southern part of Sri Lanka, for which The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles Czech and Slovak Republics acted as one of the main sponsors. Greatly appreciated by the doctors and coordinators involved, The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles has been invited to assist with on-going support for this valuable on-the-ground effort, and the Sri Lankan Government has requested for this mobile hospital to be active for at least a year.
