Samoa 2007 Shipment

In August 2007 the New Zealand OHTS office sent over 5,000 books and school supplies to the St Vincent de Paul Society in Apia, Samoa. One of the Brothers from this society is the Prinicipal of the Marist Primary in Apia. He was able to distribute the supplies to schools most in need.

Over the past three years the New Zealand office has sent regular shipments to the St Vincent de Paul Society. Each new shipment we send adds to the previous one, offering more and more children access to reading material, sporting equipment and art supplies.

In 2007 the Marist School in Apia has for the first time been able to employ a full time librarian. Thanks in part to the large amount of donated books from New Zealand now filling their shelves.
