Clone of Liberia´s request

in

Following 18 years of civil war and the loss of almost 150,000 lives, the United Nations established a peace-building force in Liberia in 1997. Progress was made, but many of the underlying conflicts continued, until in July 2003 it seemed that full civil war was about to resume. On August 18th, 2003, all the parties signed a Comprehensive Peace Agreement. They asked the United Nations to establish a peacekeeping force in Liberia.

Immediately after that an urgent request was made to Sri Chinmoy founder of The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles. He asked The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles globally to kindly assist in the peace process by providing humanitarian aid to Liberia. We have since sent large quantities of urgently required humanitarian goods.

Starting in 2004 with four double (40-foot) sea containers of medical equipment and surgical supplies for hospitals in Monrovia. During this year computers and 3.000 wond-up radios to broadcast heath programs and educational programs in remote villages were sent.

In 2007 three 40-foot sea containers with medical technology, educational materials, toys and school supplies left from our offices around the world for Liberia.
