One thousand Swiss children participated in our Kids to Kids programme for children in Kenya. With this programme we were able to send school supplies and furniture, books and toys to support a new school built by Tegla Laroupe, a world marathon woman champion, in the north-western part of Kenya.
On 25th May 2005, 330 pupils organized a sponsor run at the lake of Bodensee (Switzerland) in Uttwil in order to collect money for the Tegla Loroupe Peace Foundation. 2/3 of the money was sent to Tegla’s school for orphans to build with that money one class-room. With the rest of the money school-material, sport-equipment and toys have been delivered to Kenya.
In 2007 a sea container of school furniture, education supplies and 1,000 Kids to Kids packs made by Czech school children were sent.
