Following the immediate financial assistance offered to the international aid organisations involved with the initial aftermath of the tsunami by all of the volunteers and members of The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles New Zealand, on January 6, 2005, twenty-five boxes of medical supplies were air-freighted and accompanied by a semi-retired general practitioner who lost family members in Sri Lanka from the Tsunami. These boxes contained swabs, bandages, syringes, needles, gowns and foil containers.
