Hospital for Haiti

Our organization is cooperating with doctors from the Czech organization Hand for Help on building a quickly assembled hospital in Haiti destroyed by the earthquake. The 3 Hospital Units (a operating unit, a maternity unit and a outpatients´ department) will be built in the beginnning of March from portable polyurethane blocks (the hospital units will be assembled in just 2-3 days). The Czech team will stay in Haiti for 3-6 months to provide the needed medical care and to train the local personnel and then transfer the hospital to a local NGO or a government organization. The team will bring and install also a mobile water treatment facility powerful enough to provide drinking water for hundreds people.

Container for San Jacinto in Nicaragua

A container of needed school supplies, sport equipment and water tanks was delivered to San Jacinto Village in Nicaragua in June 2009. Gift packages, schoolbags, stationery, notebooks, bicycles, baseball sets, first-aid boxes and water tanks were distributed among children, school staff and village residents during the beautiful one day ceremony.

"Drawings of love" for children in Indonesia

One of our most successful international projects was the Drawings of Love, through which 22,000 children from 30 countries send drawings and messages of affection, which were distributed to the thousands of children orphaned by the tsunami 2005 in Banda Aceh.

After the earthquake in May, 2006 we delivered thousands of Kids to Kids packs to the affected area in Yogyakarta, Bantul and Klaten. Ten thousand school packs with school supplies were distributed in partnership with Khalsa Aid bringing great joy to the children.

Supporting Tegla Laroupe´s new school in Kenya

One thousand Swiss children participated in our Kids to Kids programme for children in Kenya. With this programme we were able to send school supplies and furniture, books and toys to support a new school built by Tegla Laroupe, a world marathon woman champion, in the north-western part of Kenya.

Kids to Kids in Bulgaria

In fall 2006, children from 11 European Union countries, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Holland, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Germany, Slovenia, Latvia and Finland, made over 1700 gift packages and over 500 drawings for their peers from Bulgarian orphanages.

Kids to Kids in Azerbaijan

In the beginning of 2005, we sent a monthly supply of multivitamins to 360 children in orphanages in the cities Baku and Gandza. Several Azerbaijan papers and TV channels informed about this project. Cooperation with Azerbaijani orphanages has been continuing in 2006 in form of exchange of Drawings of Love between Azerbaijani and Czech children and again in form of vitamin supplies.

Mobile hospital for children

A mobile hospital for children was sent from the Czech Republic to the southern part of Sri Lanka, for which The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles Czech and Slovak Republics acted as one of the main sponsors. Greatly appreciated by the doctors and coordinators involved, The Oneness-Heart-Tears and Smiles has been invited to assist with on-going support for this valuable on-the-ground effort, and the Sri Lankan Government has requested for this mobile hospital to be active for at least a year.

Medicines and medical supplies

The Czech and Slovak offices sent medicines and medical supplies at a value of US$33,000 to Sri Lanka during weeks following the tsunami disaster, and also collected US$9,000 for an international humanitarian organisation who are active in the region.

Clowns performances in Sri Lanka

Following the tsunami, 600 school children sent paintings and messages of encouragement from 32 schools in Kazakhstan, expressing their affection and offering their friendship to the children of Sri Lanka.

The paintings and messages were sent in January 2005 to the children in a newly built orphanage.
